Another Ultramarathon Running Blog

2021 Decades Dash

With the successful completion of a marathon the week before and a few weeks before knee surgery I took the opportunity to run another mid-week low key event and to maintain fitness as much as I could (within the constraints of a knee issue) before an enforced lay-off.

Running Miles operated a mid-week run along the Thames Path near Slough and the theme for this event was the Decades Dash with a 90’s themed medal.

It was another roasting hot today for the run and once again I had set out to just see out the distance although I did give it a bit more effort than last week. The marathon distance involved 5 out and back laps which I completed in 3hrs 37mins. I struggled a little on the last half a lap to be fair but plodded to the finish.

It was nice to see fellow Reading Joggers Nick and Leanne (who was training for her first marathon and decided to do the distance today, well done) at the event.

Finished, obligatory medal photo.
