Late Night Training Run
Stouty and I planned a late night training run last night, starting from West Reading heading down to the Thames River and following the river route towards Henley and then back again.
We started around 8pm and got to Shiplake Station (12 miles later) around 10pm where we decided to have a short break (as pictured). There was no moonlight and we had to rely on head torches most the way (Stoutys was good and fared well, mine less so).

The path after the Sonning Bridge was difficult to run being uneven and very close to the rivers edge so it was a bit run walk strategy around this area.
On the way back, we got a few curious stares as we stopped at Tesco’s for a few refreshments after which we continued back an easy pace both summoning the will power to ignore the Kebab van parked near the Ibis Club and eventually arrived back to our starting point just after midnight having completed 24 miles in about 4.5 hrs and with the knowledge that I need a better head torch for the GUCR this year.
